Indo Tibetan Border Police Force (ITBP) is recruiting 260 “Assistant Sub-Inspector (Stenographer)”, “Head Constable (Edu & Stress Counsellor/ Master/ Workshop/ Engine Driver)” and “Constable (Workshop/ Crew)”. The vacancies are on temporary basis but likely to be permanent. Educational qualification and other norms are given below —
1. ASSISTANT SUB-INSPECTOR (STENOGRAPHER) (DR)
Number of Vacancies: 21 Nos. (for Gen—11,for SC—3,for ST—2 and for OBC—5)
Qualification:The candidate at least Higher Secondary pass or equivalent and ability to take Dictation at 80 words per minute and transcribe the same on computer within 50 minutes in English or within 65 minutes in Hindi.

Qualification:Candidate should be a Degree or equivalent with Psychology as a subject OR Degree with B.Ed/ Bachelor of Teaching/ or equivalent from a recognize university.

Number of Vacancies: 111 Nos. (for Gen—56,for SC—17,for ST—8 and for OBC—30)
Qualification:The candidate should pass Higher Secondary or equivalent and shall have Typing speed of 35 words per minute in English or 30 words per minute in Hindi on computer.

Qualification:The candidate should pass Higher Secondary or equivalent and Diploma/ Certificate in Diesel Engine/ Machinist/ Welder/ Machine Shop/ Carpentry/ Electrician/ Fitter/ Turner from ITI or recognized institutes.
Age Limit:Candidate age must be between 18 to 25years.8. HEAD CONSTABLE (ENGINE DRIVER)
Number of Vacancies: 6 Nos. (for Gen—3,for SC—1,and for OBC—2)
Qualification:Candidates should pass Higher Secondary or equivalent and shall possess Second Class Engine Driver Certificate and one year experience in the trade.
Age Limit:Candidate age must be between 18 to 25years.9. CONSTABLE (WORKSHOP)
Number of Vacancies: 4 Nos. (for Gen—2,for SC—1 and for OBC—1)
Qualification:Candidates must pass Matriculation or equivalent and Diploma or Certificate in Diesel Engine/ Machinist/ Welder/ Machine Shop/ Carpentry/ Electrician/ Fitter/ Turner from ITI or recognized institutes
Age Limit:Candidate age must be between 18 to 23years.10. CONSTABLE (CREW)
Number of Vacancies: 37 Nos. (for Gen—18,for SC—6,for ST—3 and OBC—10)
Qualification: Candidate must pass Matriculation or equivalent AND 02 years experience in operating of Boat below 265 HP as a sukhani or Greaser or 2nd Class Engine Driver Certificate and one year experience in the trade.
Age Limit:Candidate age must be between 18 to 23years.
Age Relaxation: The age mentioned above along with the post will be counted as on 31/03/2014. Upper age relaxation for SC/ST - 5yrs; OBC- 3yrs; PWD- 10yrs; Ex-Serviceman and Others - As per norms.
For ASI (Steno) and HC (Ministerial) (DR & LDCE):
(1)For Male candidates: Minimum height – 165 cms (162.5 cms for ST candidates); Chest (unexpanded/ expanded)—77cms/ 82cms (76/81cms for ST)
(2)For Female Candidates: Minimum height—155cms (150cms for ST candidates); Chest (unexpanded/ expanded)—Not applicable.
For Rest of all posts in HC and Constable
(1)For Male candidates: Minimum height – 170 cms (165 cms for ST candidates); Chest (unexpanded/ expanded)—80cms/ 85cms (77/82cms for ST)
(2)For Female Candidates: Minimum height—157cms (154cms for ST candidates); Chest (unexpanded/ expanded)—Not applicable.
Body Weight (For all candidates): Shall be correspondence to age and height as per medical standards
Eye Sight: Minimum distance vision should be 6/6 and 6/9 of both eyes with glass.
N.B: Candidates must not have knock knee, flat foot, varicose vein or squint in eyes and should possess high colour vision. They must be in good mental and bodily health and free from any physical defect likely to interfere with the efficient performance of the duties.
Selection Process: Steps of Selection of the candidates will be through Physical Measurement, Written Test, Trade Test (Wherever applicable), Interview and final step is Medical Examination.
